Probiotics are currently making notable advances, both in research and industrial development. Here are some of the latest innovations in this field:

1. Discovery of new strains and improved production techniques:

The discovery of new probiotic strains is booming, particularly thanks to advances in "metagenomics" and "culturomics." These techniques allow for the precise identification and characterization of strains from various human microbial ecosystems, such as the gut, oral cavity, and skin. Additionally, innovative technologies, such as exposure to specific electromagnetic fields, are being used to enhance bacterial growth and viability during production, thus improving the efficiency of fermentation and stabilization processes.

2. Next-generation probiotics:

Research is also focusing on next-generation probiotics, such as Akkermansia muciniphila and butyrate-producing bacteria.
